Open Circuit Fault Diagnosis in Five-Level Cascaded H-Bridge Inverter

The development of power electronic converter, especially multilevel is remarkable for several decades. complex switching and increased semiconductor devices are prime reasons faults in inverters have raised question about reliability. To improve the reliability, a cost-effective solution terms fault diagnosis essential. In this context, study proposed an open circuit (OCF) technique device five-level cascaded H-bridge inverter using fuzzy logic control. OCF features like output voltage total harmonic distortion (THD) normalized average fuzzed as input variables controller. These divided into various triangular antecedent membership function (MF). produced by controller consequent MFs different levels to identify faulty switch. order make complete fault-tolerant structure, reduced modulation index-based postfault control suggested get balanced voltage. MATLAB/Simulink results prototype evidence support technique.
